Grab a sled, and hit the slopes! Nara Nature Park has a sledding hill that’s fun for all ages. When you’re done cruising down the hill, spend some time in their chalet. Warm up by the fire, hit the showers if you need to, and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. The chalet is open 8am–8pm every day, year-round.

If sledding isn’t your style, consider cross-country skiing or snowshoeing down their trails before visiting the chalet.

WHAT TO BRING – Winter: sled, skis, or snowshoes, water, and sunscreen. Summer: bug spray, water, and sunscreen.

TIP: There are multiple parking areas along the trails, so consider planning your day in advance and parking at a central location.

Visiting the park in the warmer months? No problem! There are more than 50 miles of walkable trails, including the Peepsock Trail: a short, ¾-mile hike to the shore of Portage Lake.
