Story

The City of Grand Rapids has received more than $2.7 million from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

Acquisition grants have funded the purchase of Butterworth Bridge and trail, as well as 30 acres of land to expand Blandford Nature Center.

Development grants have funded: amenities at Jaycee Family Park, including softball diamonds, soccer field, tennis courts, outdoor racquetball courts, an accessible playground, trails and walkways, a restroom and parking; the Sesquicentennial River Edges walkway project; a variety of renovations at Huff Park; 6th Street Bridge Park renovations; the development of Pleasant Park; and the construction and development of the Plaster Creek and Riverside Park Trails.
